I am a Discipline-based Education Researcher, which means that my scholarship involves the study of how students learn, and how we develop educational tools and practices that support learning. My research applies a critical lens to teaching and learning in STEM, with the goal of creating more equitable learning environments that better support diverse learners. I am particularly interested in how we can help students gain authentic research experiences, while also supporting their sociocultural needs.
