DESCRIPTION:Using Science Communication to effect positive change: exploring transitions\, traditions and tensions\nThe University of Aberdeen is delighted to be able to invite you to attend PCST 2025.  The conference theme will seek to explore transitions (change versus stability)\, traditions (the old\, current and the new) and tensions (dispute versus consensus) that influence all of our work as science communicators. \nIn this context of our climate emergency\, of global health imperatives\, such as food and water security\, and poverty alleviation PCST will come together in 2025 to discuss science communication can and should be used to positive effect in our  changing world. \nCall for Abstracts Launched:\nCalling all science communication practitioners and researchers!  Whether you take part in communicating science or study the process of how science is communicated this call is for you. We are inviting submissions that explore the multifaceted dimensions of science communication. We welcome your contributions to the dialogue on transitions\, traditions\, and tensions in science communication. Your insights are essential to shaping the future of our field\, so don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the conversation. Link to the full call. \nSite Visit to Aberdeen:\nSome of our scientific committee and local organising team embarked on a action packed site visit to Aberdeen in preparation for the upcoming PCST Science Communication Conference\, scheduled for May 27-29\, 2025.  Here’s a sneak peek into our adventure and how we’re weaving the conference themes of transitions\, traditions\, and tensions into every aspect of the event.  Find out more about the visit. \nConference Format:\nThe conference will predominantly be an in person event\, however\, we anticipate that we will run some virtual elements either prior to the confernece or as a stream of part of the conference – these may be available post conference to all attendees – virtual and in-person.  There will be no hybrid sessions.
